To celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, the Cat in the Hat shared some favorite stories with the elementary students! A special thank you to Ashley Adams, for coming to visit with us. Ashley had the role of The Cat in the Hat in this summer’s Delta Center Stage production of Seussical.
James Styles was selected to represent Deer Creek School in the MAIS All-Star basketball game. The game will be played on Friday, March 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Jackson Prep. James is the son of James and Rita Styles of Leland. Congratulations James!

The DCS Fellowship of Christian Athletes will sponsor the annual blood drive on Tuesday, March 5. The drive will be held in the gym from 8-3. Please come and give blood! Remember to bring a photo ID Donors who are 16 years old may give blood with a parental consent form.

After a few weeks of planning and construction, physical science class finally got to race their mousetrap cars. The big winner was Matthew Kimbriel! Finishing second was Logan Showah, followed by Marsee Stiles in third. The winner of the most beautiful car was Preslea Roberts.
The second-grade students in Mrs. Oakes’ class sent virtual valentine cards to children at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Not only did they get to practice their internet skills, but they were also able to share some Valentine’s Day love with children undergoing treatment for childhood cancer. What an awesome activity!
