Marvell Academy will host the District 2A Varsity District Tournament this week. The Varsity Girls will play on Thursday at 3:15 vs. Tunica. The boys team has a first round bye. They will play their first game on Friday at 4:15. Go Warriors!
Congratulations to the Junior High boys basketball team. They defeated Strider Academy with a score of 51-12 on Saturday to win the District 2A Championship. They finished the season with 23 straight victories!
Drew Rexrode officially accepted a tennis scholarship with Hinds Community College this week. Drew is the son of Lisa and Darrell Rexrode of Glen Allan. Drew is the defending MAIS #1 Singles State Champion.

At last week’s MAIS Student Council State Convention, the Deer Creek Student Council had two award recipients. Anne Bailey Peyton was named as the Outstanding President for Class A Student Councils and Ryan Lynchard was named as the Outstanding Member for Class A Student Councils. On Nov. 9, the local elementary spelling bee winners competed in the District Spelling Bee at Carroll Academy.
